Based in the art-filled city of Barcelona, Spain, freelance illustrator, Miguel Porlan studied illustration and graphic design before venturing out on his own.
With a focus on editorial illustration and the art of the poster, his highly conceptual work reveals a love of graphic design, color and composition. A narrative style punctuated with humor best describes his illustration and motion graphics.
His work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration and Communication Arts. He received the Injuve Creación Joven award in 2009, a prestigious honor granted by the Spanish Ministry of Equality.
Porlan’s work has been published in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Wall Street Journal, MIT Technology Review, Le Monde, Süddeutsche Zeitung and many other internationally-recognized publications.
