Lorenzo Gritti

Born in Milan Italy, freelance illustrator, Lorenzo Gritti, abandoned social-working to dedicate himself exclusively to illustration.

A graduate of Mi Master with a degree in editorial illustration, Gritti believes that the biggest challenge in illustration is the idea. Creating his own digital brushes and textures, he creates images using color washes and bold lines portraying solitary characters in surreal surroundings.

Gritti’s illustration has been featured in annual award books by American Illustration, 3X3, The Society Of Publication Designers, and New York Society of Illustrators who honored him with a gold medal for his portraits series “Quick Portraits” in 2017.

As an illustrator for magazines, book covers and packaging, his clients include The New Yorker, The New York Times, GQ, Variety, The Boston Globe, Bloomberg Businessweek, Nautilus, Texas Monthly, Atlanta Magazine, Bloomberg Markets, The Wall Street Journal Magazine, Scientific American, National Journal, The New Republic, Outside, Le Monde Diplomatique, BuzzFeed, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Notre Dame Magazine, Barnard Magazine, NPR, Datum, DBusiness Magazine, Usbeck & Rica, Penguin Random House and Hopkins Bloomberg Public Health Magazine.
